A tabby cat
Turned out of home
Rescued from the streets
Into an institution
A benevolent soul
The institution head
The tabby cat meowed in gratitude
Over time
A little hurt
Over the poor deal
Reasons why special mats for selected cats
Yet no such thoughts
For the tabby cat
A little hurt
More and more special mats
None for the tabby cat
Left in the same pile as upstart kittens
A little hurt grows
More special mats
The head cares for his own kind
The tabby cat is hurt
A nagging hurt
A nagging hurt
Gnawing at the heart
Protect the soul
The tabby cat must
The nagging hurt
Dispel it must
